more Creation

And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me everyday. Now I don't see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever, and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish and childish and how unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased. And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord, I have already named all of the animals in the Kingdom and all the good names are already taken and I cannot think of a name for this new animal." And God said, "No problem. Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him dog."

And dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility." And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not worthy of adoration."

And God created cat to be a companion to Adam. And cat would not obey Adam. And when Adam gazed into cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility. And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved. And cat did not care one way or another.

Creation

On the first day, God created the Dog.
On the second day, God created man to serve the dog.
On the third day, God created all the animals of the earth to serve as potential food for the dog.
On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.
On the fifth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.
On the sixth day, God created veterinary science to keep the dog healthy and the man broke.
On the seventh day, God tried to rest, but He had to walk the dog.

Dog Haiku

Dog Haiku
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I lie belly-up
In the sunshine, happier than
You ever will be.

Today I sniffed
Many dog butts--I celebrate
By kissing your face.

I sound the alarm!
Paperboy--come to kill us all--
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I sound the alarm!
Garbage man--come to kill us all--
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I lift my leg and
Whiz on each bush. Hello, Spot-
Sniff this and weep

I Hate my choke chain--
Look, world, they strangle me! Ack
Ack Ack Ack Ack Ack!

Sleeping here, my chin
On your foot--no greater bliss--well,
Maybe catching cats.

Look in my eyes and
Deny it. No human could
Love you as much I do.

financial advice for you

Here is some important financial advice:

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

...With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

...With WorldCom, of $1,000.00 you would have had less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00. Based on the above, the best current investment
advice is to drink heavily and recycle.........
.
.
.
It's called the 401-Keg Plan.

Shorty

A scrappy young Beagle named Morty,
Chased lizards around the back forty.
So sooner or later,
He'll chase a big gator.
And we'll call our poor Beagle, Shorty.

More Wandering

I know, two Wongs don't make a white.

When we do the laundry, we press the clothes. After that, it becomes depressing.

just wondering

If you take an Oriental person and spin him around several times, does he become Disoriented?

If people from Poland are called "Poles," why aren't people from Holland called "Holes?"

If a pig loses its voice, is it disgruntled?

A win, win solution

Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border, take the dirt and raise the levees in New Orleans, and then put the Florida alligators into the border moat!

Any other problems you would like for me to solve?

Memorial Day is Here

This week end is Memorial Day Weekend.

In Flanders Field

by Col. John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Sue's Blog Questions

Sue:

You asked two questions.

OK, so how do you put a picture in a comment?

Now, how do I get an e-mail reply when I subscribe to a post? How do I subscribe to a post?

Picture Question

First, comments are not posts. If you want to put up a picture, make a post.

Blogs are not email; and they are not bulletin boards. Email is like a written phone call. A bulletin board is a place for public messages. Not everyone can join a board. On a board, a few people control all communication.

Blogs are essentially monologues that can support public discussions. There are two kinds of link that provide this support. Permanent links and back links.

The permanent link allows someone out on the net to provide a link to a single post of your blog and its comments. The back link (Blog This) is created by another blogger on your blog. It places a snippet of your post on his blog and a link back to his blog in your post. You can control the back links on your blog. He controls the links on his blog.

Thus a public conversation can occur between any number of parties without a moderator.

Subscription Question

Supporting email subscriptions is a huge waste of resources for a heavily visited website.

The subscription refers to RSS feeds. I have attempted to tell you about them for sometime. The time is rapidly approaching when emailed news letters by subscription will diminish. You will need a ''News Aggregator" or "Feed Reader."

A feed is an electronic copy of the current index of your recent posts and contains a brief description the of post and its permanent link.

To subscribe to the feed, you tell your "Feed Reader" to retrieve a copy of the index; and it gives you a searchable list of recent posts. It usually has features that allow you to scan and retrieve large quantities of items. See: The Boca Beagle Website.

Oh Brother !!!

Well the lemonadw was good. The son went down about midnight.

I'm done tweaking the template. It's time to blog. I had a few technical problems getting the look I wanted. Those problems are solved.

It is supposed to rain down here, but it has been scarce lately. We'll make up for it when the storm season starts.

Howdy there!

The sun is shining (I know it is dark there) and the temperature is perfect. It is 58.

I hope you have a good evening.

New Look

I am just begining to figure out how to work this crazy blog contraption.

One of my relatives asked me to get into the blogasphere. So this blog is a trial balloon. I originaly chose a crappy orange template for my blog with the intention of fixing it. So I chose a simple easy to read template. I have finally gotten around to giving this blog a new look.

Now my next goal is to figure out what to write.
